Surface Mount Relay Base EIB128

The EIB128 Base has an integral relay that is activated when the smoke/heat alarm connected to the EIB128 enters alarm mode.

The relay contacts are isolated and are rated at 250VAC, 5A resistive and can be used for signalling, turning on lights and sirens or activating door release devices etc. The EIB128 Base is designed to be used with the Brooks 140RC and 160e series Smoke and Heat Alarms.

In addition, the EIB128COV is a plastic lid for the EIB128 that allows the unit to be sited remotely to the Smoke or Heat Alarm, and will also allow non Easi-Fit Alarms to be connected to the EIB128.

The EIB128 Base is suitable to allow for the BCA class 1b applications:

• In this type of application a system of lighting must be installed to assist the evacuation of occupants in the event of a fire.
• The lighting must also be activated by the smoke alarms installed in every bedroom and in every corridor or hallway associated will a bedroom.
• This can be achieved by use photoelectric mains powered 240-volt with either a non-removable rechargeable lithium battery back-up or 9-volt battery back-up smoke alarm in conjunction with a surface mount base with relay.
